When you are buying or selling property in today's real estate market, it's important to have confidence in your real estate professional. My commitment as your local REALTOR® is to provide you with the specialized real estate service you deserve. The following is a brief description of how Rick stays involved with in the local community.

Pinckney, Lakeland, Hamburg, Hell Chamber of Commerce

Rick will be starting his 6th year as president. Recently I have heard him mention he is not sure if he is just doing such a great job that he keeps the position, or maybe no one else will take it. Surly it is the first, his commitment to supporting the chamber and local business can not be surpassed.

During his term-

-          He has helped start the program called “Shop and Dine M-36”. Signage, buttons, magnets, and a quarterly publication with George Moses Co. helps local business and raises community awareness of the area and events.

-          Helped the Chamber start an annual “Community Investment Awards” to recognize the people/business’s in the area putting money back into the local economy.

-          Rick attends and supports all the local Pinckney events, Chamber events, and directs traffic at “Art in the Park”.

-          Serves on the board of directors for the Brighton Chamber of Commerce.

-          Recently the Hamlet of Hell MI, joined the P.L.H.H.Chamber and became part of the communities that he oversees. Rick now supports the Hell community and can now enjoy telling people to “go to Hell!”

American Cancer Society & Brighton Relay for Life

A passionate supporter of the American Cancer Society.

-          Serves on the organization committee for the Relay.

-          Gives team presentations.

-          Actively recruits for new teams throughout the year and motivates for participation.

-          At the Relay he is known as the 1-800 number guy.

Rick walks the opposite way of participants and quizzes them to be sure that they know the phone number and website to call and make donations.

-          One year Rick even dressed the part for the “Ms. Relay” contest. Stunning in a red dress, pretty long brown locks, high heels and all!

-          He has even been loaned to other local relays to help them raise money.

-          Created contacts with local media for the relay.

1.      WHMI has become a major sponsor and promotes the relay on air regularly.

2.      Rick worked with Livingston Press and Argus who now does a special section for the Relay.

3.      Also, he worked with Livingston Community News to cover the event and he recruited them to form their own relay team.

-          In addition, Rick also works the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk each year in Ann Arbor.

Pinckney High School

-          Sells 50/50 Raffle tickets at all football and boys basketball games, raising thousand of dollars over the years and continues to do so after his girls have graduated.

Just about anyone can sell raffle tickets but it is how he does it that makes the difference. An experience you won’t soon forget. At a game you will be approached by Rick the “Pinckney Pirate” in his large pirate hat with the fake long black hair. For your donation you hold the roll of tickets from your finger to your nose, cough (moving your nose farther from your finger) and you get extra tickets! Everyone who buys the tickets and those that get to watch are busting with laughter!

-          In 2006 he was even requested to sell raffle tickets for a hockey game and a girl’s basketball game.

-          Money made by the raffle tickets go to the athletic boosters club.

-          Involved with the Pinckney Schools Career Advisory Committee.

-          Known as the “PR guy” supplying all the information to local media for news releases.

-          Speaks to students on career days at the middle and high schools.

Arise Church

-          As a parish member Rick helped begin the program called the “5th Quarter” where students come to Arise acres after football games to enjoy a bonfire and music. The program works to keep kids safe and out of trouble.

-          Works with the Church to raise community awareness.

-          Sold the Church parsonage and did not take a commission for his work as their Realtor.

Bleachers Sports Bar, Pinckney

Formerly the Blue Martini, Rick worked on the sale of the building with the new owners. Rick constantly strives to bring more people into the Pinckney area. After the sale was completed on the building, he talked with the owners to secure an area for the local Chamber members to display business cards and information on their services. The info center supply’s maps and local information for restraint patrons.

From Proud Pirate Parent to the Professional “Pinckney Pirate” Realtor

Through all of Rick’s community involvement the fun has carried over into his professional life as well. Since starting in Real Estate in 1999, so many people got to know Rick and refer to him as the “Pinckney Pirate”, hat and all, that he began branding himself and establishing a marketing program based on the Pinckney Pirate theme. He even has directional signs that can be seen at street intersections directing you to “Another treasured property by the “Pinckney Pirate”.

-          Also, volunteering within his industry, Rick recently resurrecting monthly “After Hours” at different local restaurants. The after hours events brings together agents from all the different offices. It provides an opportunity for open communication and discussions about the local market conditions.
